Changing your email address
Granola uses Google OAuth to manage your account, so there's no direct way of changing your account email, but in most cases we can help move your notes and subscription to a new account if you need to.
Step-by-step guide
Here's how to change your email, unless:
your email address change is part of a domain migration on Google Workspace
you're part of an Enterprise or Business plan on Granola
you can't access the email account associated with your Granola account
1. Get in touch from your existing Granola account
Either send us a message through the app from the Send Feedback page in Settings, or email us at hey@granola.so from the email address that's currently associated with your Granola account.
Make sure you let us know the email address of the account that you'd like to move your notes to!
2. Log into Granola with your new email address
Sign out of Granola and log in again with the new email address you'd like to use. You'll need to do this before we can transfer any notes across from your old account.
3. Set up your new Granola account while we transfer your notes
We have to manually trigger the note transfer once you've got in touch, so bear with us while we do that.
In the meantime, given that this is a new Granola account, there might be some things you might need to set up again - like your profile, templates, folders, or transcription settings. We can't yet transfer these from one account to another, but we're aiming to improve this in the future.
Exceptions
The steps above will apply to most people, but there are a few cases different steps are required.
Domain changes within the same Google Workspace
If your company is changing their domain name (e.g. granola.so ➡️ granola.ai) but keeping the same Google Workspace accounts, this should be reflected automatically in Granola. There's no need to do anything!
Business or Enterprise users
If you're on one of our Business or Enterprise plans, we'll need permission from your Granola workspace admin to transfer any notes.
You can check if you're on a Business or Enterprise plan, and who your admins are, in the Team & Billing section of Settings:
Please copy in one of your Granola workspace admins when contacting us at hey@granola.so, so that they can give consent for you to transfer your notes to another account.
No access to Granola or the email address on your Granola account
We take data privacy and security very seriously at Granola, so we need confirmation of ownership of an account before we can transfer any data to a new account.
Contacting us from the app or the email address associated with that account is the best way to do this, but if that's not possible, please email us at hey@granola.so and let us know your old account email address - in some cases, we can confirm your ownership of the account in other ways such as matching your billing information.
